        Legacy operational technology (OT) systems, often built decades ago and disconnected from modern IT environments, represent the most significant barrier to digital transformation in energy. Integrating OT and IT data into a unified analytical layer is technically complex, organizationally sensitive, and mission-critical \u2013 yet inside many organizations, digital initiatives still run in silos: IT upgrades here, data projects there, grid automation somewhere else, with incompatible architectures and different sponsors. The scale of what is coming makes this gap increasingly untenable: electricity consumption across the EU is expected to grow by around 60% by 2030, requiring wind and solar capacity to more than double from 400 GW to at least 1,000 GW (European Commission).
