QuickScan: the best companion of the field engineer

When energy consumption control is important for a company, nanoGrid can address it from top to bottom. Based on hardware and software developed in house, installed by nanoGrid field engineers, it gathers information on energy (electricity, gas and fuel) and water consumption, centralizes and presents it to their customers through dashboards and reports. Enabling their customers to analyse detailed information and take actions that improve their energy consumption footprint. This is important for companies that want to reduce their energy bill, but also for companies that need to present ESG compliant information.

This full stack company was missing a tool that would enable their field engineers to plan, on site, what metering devices are already in place, if it’s possible to interface with them, and what kind of additional metering devices are needed, where they should be installed, how they will report the collected data to nanoGrid. To address this gap, AdvanceWorks is developing QuickScan, a mobile app that enables the field engineers to do all those tasks.

Team Collaboration

A multidisciplinary team is in place, composed by an architect, developers, a business analyst and a tester from AdvanceWorks and a PO from nanoGrid that is delivering this mobile app with offline capabilities.

Goals to Achieve

The main goals for this project are:

Provide a tool, integrated with the other applications in used at nanoGrid, that automates the tasks of the field engineers in the planning phase.

This tool should work on a mobile device and work offline.

Reduce the number of field engineers needed on the planning phase on a site, and the time needed to create a plan for a site.

Continuing this path of innovation, the next steps involve leveraging user feedback for continuous improvements, exploring advanced features, and ensuring the mobile application remains aligned with the evolving needs of the energy optimization and refrigeration sector. The focus is on maintaining a dynamic and effective solution, empowering technicians for sustained success.
